It would be great to be able to build a graph is it's not possible now.
I’m afraid that creating a solid web-based chart building tool is a big endeavor, and one we’d prefer to leave to specialists.
We are happy to do more to make it easy to get data out of Census Reporter, or possibly to partner with chart builder makers if the opportunity arises.

We will probably stay away from making a graph building interface for Census Reporter. There are a few projects which focus on that already, and we have our hands full just making it easier to find and understand basic data.
Nevertheless, our goal is to make it as easy as we can for journalists to build graphs. But that may in some cases mean better documentation and pointers to where journalists can learn to build graphs themselves. This helps us focus on what we can do best, and also has the benefit of equipping journalists to use datasets outside our domain, which we'd love to see more of.
We'll try to at least find some information about tools we can recommend as part of developing our 'help' text.
Thanks for your feedback,
