Is data on car-free households available?
http://www.bikesatwork.com/carfree/carfree-census-database.html suggests that the 2000 census included data on car-free households (also, worth reaching out to them to help plug their searches into Census Reporter!)
I'd love to find that data here but all I see is "means of transportation to work"
Oh, note that the "collapsed" (C...) tables are only available for ACS 1- and 3-year releases, so you won't be able to get those specific columns for smaller areas.
Sorry for the slow response. We're still getting our head around the UserVoice system.
There are a number of tables which count vehicles available, by household as well as by workers and by housing units. Here's a summary. Maybe we can call this out specifically on the "commute" topic help page.
