  4. Bulk export workaround

    I'm trying to download census tracts for New York showing median income from the 5 year ACS and I'm running up against the bulk download. I only need data for Kings and New York counties, though. 1) What is the best way to get this data and 2) it would be great if you could filter geographies so you could export a subset of an entire state, since doing that will get you over the limit in some cases.

  7. I think the fertility percentage is incorrect

    For my City (Soldotna, AK), the percentage of women who had a birth in the past 12 months is listed as 8.6%. However, if you 'Switch to totals,' you see it's only 81 births (out of about 4,300 -- so it's actually about 1.9%). It looks like - to arrive at the total percentage of births - you just added up all the percentages from the different age categories. But this wouldn't be correct.

    Please double-check. Almost 1/10 women giving birth every year would be an amazingly large number.

  13. provide a deeper dive profile page

    We've thought for a long time that there are more figures and charts that might be useful to have "at hand" on the profile page for a place (or on new pages, if we don't want the main one to get crowded).

    Looking for your input on what other figures would be valuable--what are the basic questions you ask when you're trying to get a handle on a place? Also ideas about how to most usefully organize the pages if we make more than one...

  14. Is data on car-free households available?

    http://www.bikesatwork.com/carfree/carfree-census-database.html suggests that the 2000 census included data on car-free households (also, worth reaching out to them to help plug their searches into Census Reporter!)

    I'd love to find that data here but all I see is "means of transportation to work"
